AISII: A Life in the Spotlight as a Nude Model and Artist

AISII, a name that resonates not only in Romanian photography circles but also internationally, has long been one of the most iconic nude models in the industry. Her passion for the art of posing is evident in her work, which has transcended borders, reaching global audiences. But it’s not just her modeling career that sets her apart—AISII is deeply involved in the world of photography, contributing actively to discussions and fostering creativity within various photography communities. Today, she shares her thoughts on modeling, photography, and life beyond the camera.

Who are you and why?

I am a mother, a wife, and a model—exactly in that order. Why? Because I consider myself lucky. I’ve been fortunate to embrace these different roles in my life, and each one of them has shaped me into who I am today.

What are three "shitty" pictures you like and why?

Only three? There are so many! I find beauty in pictures that aren’t technically perfect but evoke strong emotions. Those so-called ‘shitty’ pictures often have something raw and real about them, a certain magic that goes beyond flawless lighting or perfect framing. They make me feel something, and that’s what matters most to me.

What’s the best part of a photoshoot?

When the food arrives. Seriously, after a long day of posing and creative work, there’s nothing better than indulging in some good food. It’s a small but deeply appreciated part of the whole process!

What’s the worst part of a photoshoot?

Oh, without a doubt, it’s those grueling photoshoots where you don’t even have time to drink water. Sometimes the energy and flow of the shoot take over, and it’s easy to forget basic needs. It can be exhausting, especially when you’re working nonstop without a break.

In just 12 words, tell us why you consider yourself an artist.

Books, movies, videos, music—these are what I feed my brain with. There you go, twelve exactly! Creativity is nurtured by the things we absorb, and for me, all these forms of art help shape my vision and fuel my work as both a model and artist.

Complete the sentence: Photographers suck because...

They’re lecherous. Well, some of them are. Of course, I don’t mean to generalize, but there’s a minority out there who give the profession a bad name by treating models inappropriately. It’s something I think the industry needs to address more openly.

Complete the sentence: Photographers are cool because...

They’re creative. Again, not all of them, but many photographers I’ve worked with have this incredible ability to turn ideas into captivating images. The best photographers make you see the world differently, and I admire that kind of vision.

Picture this: You hate me. Confess your dislike towards me nicely.

Haha, well, thank you for making me answer all these questions on a Sunday. It’s not exactly how I imagined spending my weekend, but here we are!

Now you ask, you answer: Why aren’t you modeling anymore?

I’ve stepped back from modeling and am currently on an indefinite hiatus. Most people don’t realize that I do more than just model—I have other passions and pursuits that I’ve been exploring, and that has naturally led me to take a break from the modeling world. It’s been a fulfilling career, but I’m enjoying this period of reflection and change.

A message to our readers?

All that glitters is not gold, especially in the world of nude and fashion photography. What you see isn’t always what you get. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes, and the final images don’t always tell the full story of the process, the struggles, or the reality of the industry.

Prove you’re a hater:

Dear photographers, stop posting pictures of your cam-girl clients in professional photography groups on Facebook. It’s just embarrassing and undermines the value of real artistic work. Let’s keep the standards high, shall we?

AISII’s candid responses give us a glimpse into the mind of a woman who has lived multiple lives—mother, wife, nude model, artist—and navigated the complexities of each. Through her career in nude modeling, she has collaborated with some of the most creative photographers in the business, all while remaining a critical voice in photography communities.

Her humor and honesty shine through her answers, especially when she talks about what she loves and hates about her industry. For example, when she talks about what makes photographers "suck"—a candid take on the inappropriate behavior of some professionals in the field—it’s clear she isn’t afraid to call out the dark side of an industry she knows intimately. On the other hand, she also praises the photographers who impress her with their creativity, a quality she clearly values in her collaborations.

AISII's career as a nude model spanned years of hard work, challenging shoots, and deep creative engagement. She doesn’t mince words when discussing the hardships that come with it—like the physically taxing nature of certain shoots, where basic things like staying hydrated can get neglected. It's an unglamorous reality of a profession often romanticized from the outside, and her openness about this brings authenticity to her story.

But it’s not all criticism and exhaustion. She clearly cherishes certain aspects of her work, especially the emotional connection she feels toward imperfect photographs. "Shitty pictures," as she calls them, often have an emotional depth that goes beyond technical proficiency. Her love for photography as an art form—whether as a subject in front of the camera or as an active participant in photography groups—has always been a driving force in her career.

It’s this dual appreciation for both art and realism that sets AISII apart from many others in her field. She recognizes the artistry involved in photography but refuses to idolize it blindly. She acknowledges that, in an industry filled with glamour and beauty, there are aspects that don't always shine so brightly. From unprofessional behavior in the field to the disparity between social media perceptions and reality, she isn’t afraid to peel back the layers.

Her advice to photographers to "stop posting cam-girl clients in professional groups" serves as a reminder of the blurry lines between art and exploitation in certain photography circles. It’s a pointed remark, one that reflects her desire for greater integrity in the profession she respects and loves.

Another insight that AISII shares is her message that "all that glitters is not gold." In the world of nude and fashion photography, it’s easy to get caught up in the surface-level beauty and aesthetics of an image. But her words remind us that behind every beautiful shot is a complex process. There are challenges, missteps, and sometimes difficult moments that the final product doesn’t reveal. For those on the outside, this message is a valuable takeaway: there’s always more to the story than what meets the eye.

As for her indefinite hiatus, AISII is clearly focused on expanding her creative endeavors beyond modeling. Her career as a nude model may be paused, but that doesn’t mean her connection to the world of art and photography has ended. Instead, she’s exploring new paths and possibilities. Her role in this field has evolved, but her voice remains relevant—whether she’s actively modeling or contributing as an observer, critic, or artist.

In closing, AISII’s words serve as both a reflection of her own journey and a call for authenticity in an industry that too often hides behind the allure of perfection. Her story as a nude model is one of both artistry and reality, a balance that she has navigated with grace, humor, and a deep sense of self-awareness. Whether she returns to modeling or not, her impact will continue to resonate within the world of art and photography for years to come.
